Farhana is a Registered Social Worker with a focus on mental health and addictions. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in medicine, a master’s degree in mental health and addictions from the University of Toronto, and a master’s degree in public health.
She has counselling experience in community organizations in Canada and internationally, with additional training in trauma-informed care, cultural competency, crisis management, and counselling psychology.
Her approach draws on cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, emotion-focused work, motivational interviewing, and narrative, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches.
