Make yourself
a little more sure.
Don’t see your question here?
You’re always welcome to ask.
How do I get started?
Begin with a free 20-minute consultation. Call or email the Spark team, who can answer questions, help you find a therapist, and discuss scheduling. You don’t need to know which approach you want before reaching out.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is necessary. You can contact Spark directly. The practice also accepts referrals from professionals such as family doctors and WSIB coordinators.
Can I attend online?
Spark offers online counselling for clients across Ontario, along with in-person appointments in Hanover. Formats vary by service and therapist; the team can help you find an option that fits.
Will my insurance cover therapy?
Coverage depends on your benefit plan and your clinician’s professional designation. Check with your insurer before booking, and ask the team which practitioner credentials and receipt details your plan requires.
What if I don’t know which therapist to choose?
That’s okay. The intake team can talk through what you are looking for and help you understand your options. A consultation gives you a chance to ask questions and decide whether the fit feels right.
What happens in the first session?
You and your therapist can talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to work on, and how you would like to move forward. You can also ask about the approach, fees, privacy, and practical arrangements.
How do I access the client portal?
Use the Client portal link to open Spark’s Owl Practice portal. If you are new to the practice or need help with an account, contact the team. Booking options depend on your clinician and the services enabled in the portal.
What if I need urgent support?
This website and the practice’s general contact channels are not emergency services. In immediate danger or a medical emergency, call 9-1-1. If you are thinking about suicide or worried about someone else, call or text 9-8-8 in Canada, 24 hours a day.
You don’t have to know
